This Pink Muhly Grass is a live outdoor ornamental perennial in a 2.5 gallon grower pot. It brings soft pink plumes from late summer through fall and adds texture to borders, accents, small hedges, mass plantings, or containers. This clumping grass is drought-tolerant once established and offers easy-care landscape interest through the season. For planting, dig a hole twice as wide as the pot and mix rich garden soil with your native soil. Set the top of the root ball 1/2 inch above ground level when backfilling. Cut it back in late winter to make room for fresh spring growth, and use a slow-release granular fertilizer in spring. The plant can also be divided every three years to help maintain its upright habit.
- Hardy in USDA Zones 6-10.
- Grows best in full sun to part shade and in well-draining garden soil.
- Mature size is about 3-4 ft tall x 2-3 ft wide, with an average shipping size of 20-25 in tall.
- Water needs are medium; water 2-3 times per week during the first growing season.
- Deciduous habit with uses that include accent planting, small hedges, and containers.
- Plant features include drought tolerance and attraction for birds, bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Not guaranteed to be in bloom on arrival.
